April-Rodgers-PhotoWith the words that I speak and the actions I do I will strive to reflect the Light of Christ and glorify God.

I also want to encourage women to do what they can when they can to reflect His Light in their everyday lives.

Hi! I’m April and I’m glad to meet you here at Reflecting Light.

I’m a southern girl, born and raised on the bayou in Monroe, Louisiana. I love all things southern: gumbo, pralines, and the word “y’all.” Ok, maybe I don’t love the heat or the mosquitoes, but that’s just understood.

I am the wife to a pretty fantastic guy named Adams and our favorite things to do are to build a fire, grill a good steak, and dream together. Our current dream is to be able to finish a conversation without being interrupted twenty times. We laugh at ourselves regularly and we’re a good team.

I am also an on-the-go mother to two beautiful daughters, Addie and Ella. I say “on-the-go” rather than “stay-at-home” mom because I am rarely home these days now that my girls are in school and up to their eyeballs in activities.

I am a former Certified Financial Planner turned seminary graduate. Yes, that’s right… I recently obtained my Masters of Theological Studies from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently, I am fulfilling my calling as a Bible writer, speaker, and teacher of women.

You can usually find me at the local coffee shop having multiple cups of coffee with a girlfriend or with my well-used laptop. Otherwise, I’m running the roads while singing off-key to artists such as Taylor Swift, NeedToBreathe, and Lauren Daigle. What can I say? I like variety.

My very favorite things consist of coffee, a good novel, group texts, Sunday afternoon naps, and Wednesday morning Bible studies.

I am absolutely sold out for Jesus. If you would like to hear more of my story, please contact me. I would love the opportunity to share it with your church or conference.
