If you’ve ever played sports in your lifetime, then you know how important it is to be fully hydrated. If you start the game without much water in you, you’ll start to feel faint and even cramp up, which can take you out of the game altogether. But if you start the game fully hydrated and you diligently replenish your fluids as you play, you will be a far better competitor. Thus the saying, “Hydrate to dominate!”
The same is true in the game of life. If we want to play hard then we better be fully hydrated from the start. Spiritually speaking, this concept was taught by Jesus Himself.
He said, “All you thirsty ones, come to Me! Come to Me and drink! Believe in Me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!” (John 7:37–38 TPT).
If we are going to be effective for the Kingdom, then we need to be filled with living water that comes by having a relationship with Jesus…believing in Him as our Lord and Savior. But the thing about thirst is that it keeps coming back as we exert our energy. So, we can’t just fill up on His living water once and expect it to last our whole lifetime, but rather we keep coming back to replenish as life goes on.
And the cool part about it is, the more we keep coming back to hydrate, the more unquenchable our thirst becomes until we ourselves are bursting with living water, sloshing it out on whomever is in the game with us! That’s how we dominate in life, by hydrating with His living water.

As one struggling to drink the 8x8oz of water a day even with all the articles of why it’s a good thing constantly touted on the magazine covers in the checkout line, I love the connection to The Living Water & the sports analogy! I feel encouraged & more inspired to drink both physical & Spiritual water! Even shared my condensed version of your blog with some close friends! Thank you for your words pointing us to His Words!
Thank you for your comment, Ruth! Keep on hydrating and shining for Him. 💦✨
